Programs

Here at the Logemann Community Center, we offer programs for literally everyone in the community. From infants to young kids, teens, adults and seniors, we take pride in being able to serve members from all walks of life in more ways than any other place in the community. See below for a full list of the great programs we offer!

We are constantly developing our programs to meet the changing environment, as well as coming up with new ways to better serve you. If there is a way we can improve our services, or if you have a program or activity you want to see in the community, feel free to call or email our programs director at 262-242-7471 or logemanncenter@sbcglobal.net. We look forward to hearing from you!

Family Playcenter Grand Reopening!

The Family Playcenter provides a stimulating environment for young children and adults to interact together. A sure cure for cabin fever, almost 150 families annually find it to be a warm and inviting place to relax, re-energize and strengthen family bonds. It runs year round with some families joining every year, and some just stopping by when they can.

One of our oldest and best programs

The Logemann Community Center's Middle School Youth Center runs every summer starting about a week after the kids get out of school. It runs throughout the summer and ends about a week before school starts up again. It is a place for kids that are going into their 6th grade year or going into their 9th grade year to hang out and have some good, clean fun in a safe, supervised environment for no charge.

Serving adults/teens with special needs

Another very important program at the Logemann Community Center is our Special Friends Program (for adults with special needs). Their monthly DJ Socials are organized by a dedicated group of volunteers and are always well attended. The DJ Socials occur every third Friday of the month, and often feature a seasonal theme.

Concerts and Volunteerism meet

The Logemann Community Center's 6100 Teen Events allows local bands to organize concerts that are put on by local talent. Fans love the low admission & our famous patio. Concerts are open to the public, and often have an impressive turnout. The teens pay an admission fee, and the proceeds benefit the LCC. The events are always fully supervised by paid staff, so they are always fun and safe.

Grants News: NMF funds fundraising at LCC

We received word that the LCC will be receiving a grant for $4,580 to help fund our independent fundraising capability in 2013. The Nonprofit Management Fund of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation is awarding this grant to the LCC. This money will help the LCC hire Murn & Associates in Pewaukee to be our funding consultant in 2013. This funding was made possible by the LCC investment in the branding research process in 2012 through a similar Nonprofit Management Fund grant which enabled us to hire Advantage Research in Germantown. The Nonprofit Management Fund was impressed with the results of the study, so they were very pleased to help the LCC take this important next step in the branding process!

Family Playcenter Grand Reopening:

Say Yay to Play Event

When I spoke with Joni Monfre, our Program Coordinator, prior to the event, she told me that she expected between 30 and 40 families at the Grand Reopening of the LCC Family Playcenter on January 13th. As it turned out, community interest was much better than that. That mark was passed within an hour of the doors opening at 4:00 PM. The families just continued to come, and by 6:30 nearly 75 families had passed through our front door. As the Caribou Coffee mascot roamed the building along with other colorful characters in costumes, it soon became apparent that word of
mouth had spread in the community and there was an intense interest in the Logemann Community Center and our unique Playcenter program. Even the vendors and program visitors who were there, Splash, Red Mango, Abrakadoodle were surprised by the turnout and struggled to meet the demand for literature, refreshment and food. The event was the culmination of a series of enhancements and repairs that have recently been made to the Family Playcenter. Along with the new floor, we have replaced furniture, repainted, and are in the process of installing new cabinets and blinds. Three families immediately registered for an annual Playcenter membership earning them a free twohour Playcenter party. If you are interested in becoming a Playcenter member, registration is available online www.logemanncenter.org as well as in the Playcenter via our new I-Pad check-in system.
