Volunteers
Volunteering has been and still is the most vital ingredient to the success of the Logemann Community Center. The very foundation of growing and sustaining this center is made up of all of the people who donate their valuable time and effort, without which Logemann would not survive. The ways in which members of the community can give back are almost limitless. If you have a special talent or skill, a unique interest or niche, it's more than likely that we can find a place for you to contribute. Here are just one of the ways we've used our volunteers:
Gabrielle Finger has been a volunteer at the Family Playcenter for three years. A previous recipient of our Volunteer of the Year award, she has been a solid volunteer presence at the Logemann Center. Despite a full time job and family commitments, she has dedicated the last two years overseeing the Saturday morning Family Playcenter. She acted as a welcoming hostess and a friendly ear to all visiting families. In addition, her efforts promoting all of the other aspects of Logemann outside of the Playcenter were critical to our success.
Even the leadership is volunteer. The Logemann Community Center is organized and run by a volunteer board that decides on the direction of the organization, including finding our true place in the Mequon-Thiensville community. Without volunteerism, the Logemann Center would not function.

The Marilyn and Les Strandt Volunteer of the Year Award (2010)
Dr. Tom Balliet, Ph.D

Every year, we honor a person in the community who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to the Logemann Center. This year, we recognized the efforts of Tom Balliet. As Board President of the Logemann Center, Tom was the dependable, passionate leader of the organization for 6 years. His list of accomplishments is long and impressive. His service to the Logemann Center has truly been remarkable, and we truly are grateful to have had such a devoted volunteer in Tom. While 2010 marked the final year of Tom's tenure as president of the Logemann, he remains an active member of the board, and we are lucky to have him as a passionate advocate and friend. We hope our volunteers continue to be as dedicated as Tom.
